This is the amazing ReAcoustic amp for the iphone. It’s sound is truly rich and LOUD!!! There are no wires, it is simply good old fashioned tech - a box with a hole in it and a wonderful old Gramaphone speaker. Here is the link, if you are in the market for a speaker, you will not believe how amazing it is.

Thanks to the brilliant @sophbags for this amazing present. As always her taste is impeccable.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.

Oh my god! If you were in child in the 70’s or 80’s be prepared to laugh, cry a bit & pine to go back in time to a wonderful world long gone. This is just brilliant.

This is a brilliant a capella version of a Stevie Wonder classic. Not only does @yeoinhyeok have an amazing voice, but the style & edit of this track is supercool. Fantastic.

Overlooked movie gems you really should see #37
This excellent British film really slipped under the radar. It tells the fascinating story of record producer Joe Meek, and is based on the hit play of the same name. Nick Moran wrote and directs brilliantly, the supporting performances are all sensational, but Con O’Neil’s portrayal of Joe Meek is absolutely stunning. It’s a funny, warm and deeply moving story that you must see.

Overlooked movie gems you really should see #36
This 1974 movie is the Grandaddy of the ‘stalk and slash’ genre. It was there before Halloween and all the imitators, and it really packs a very creepy Christmas edge. If you’ve never seen it you are in for such a treat…..just the phonecalls alone. Oy!

Yet again I find myself so moved by performers that seem utterly unembarrassed and totally committed to displaying their feelings. This incredible performance by Jacques Brel of his own song it astonishing in it’s honesty, it feels almost as though you shouldn’t be eavesdropping. Incredible.

There was nothing as exciting as the Christmas editions of the Radio Times & TV Times, sitting for hours with a pen, circling what films and programmes were unmissable. In a world where there were at most 4 channels, you got what you were given and loved it. Incidentally, how can 1981 be 31 years ago?

Enjoy.
