Overlooked movie gems you really should see #23 Never mind ‘The Iron Lady’, this brilliant British comedy is a real slice of 1980’s England, ‘Thatcher’s Britain, With Her Knickers Down’. It’s a stunning reminder of how bleak some of England was - and probably still is. It’s tragic that both the writer, Andrea Dunbar & the director Alan Clarke both died before their time. Never mind ‘The Iron Lady’, this brilliant British comedy is a real slice of 1980’s England, ‘Thatcher’s Britain, With Her Knickers Down’.
