It’s frightening to think that there is a generation of people who will have never even heard of this film, but it is an absolute joy. Yes the plotting is great, the performances are universally starry brilliant, the music magnificent, but best of all is the design. I defy you to finish this film and not want to spend the rest of your days wearing 30’s suits and hats.
It’s an absolute classic,
